Bauer Media Audio agrees to acquire SharpStream

Hamburg/London, 20 March 2024 – Bauer Media Audio – Europe’s leading digital commercial audio and radio operator – has signed an agreement to acquire SharpStream – a leading provider of audio streaming software.

The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.

SharpStream is counted on by some of the world’s biggest brands to stream their audio content live to internet audiences, including high profile sports broadcasters like the ATP and Le Mans Racing Series SharpStream, all the way through to niche, ethnic and community audio broadcasters.

SharpStream already provides its services to seven of Bauer Media Audio’s local markets (UK, Ireland, Slovakia, Portugal, Denmark, Norway and Sweden), and the acquisition represents a logical next step in the relationship between the two businesses.

The acquisition signifies an important step in Bauer Media Audio’s transformation as the business moves forward into its next stage of digital development.

Commenting, Vivian Mohr, President of Audio, Bauer Media Group said: “As long time partners of SharpStream, we’ve seen the team’s professionalism and diligence in delivering audio streaming technology. I’m excited to welcome them formally into the business, and look forward to supporting their future development”.
