Press release
Tobias Nielsen appointed CEO of Bauer Media Audio Denmark and VP Strategic Partnerships
London/Copenhagen, June 25 2026 – Bauer Media Audio today announces that Tobias Nielsen has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Bauer Media Audio Denmark, alongside a new role as Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, effective 3 August.
In parallel, after 11 years as CEO of Bauer Media Audio Denmark, and 5 years for Norway, Jim Receveur will step down from his current role and move into a newly created position as Executive Advisor, Strategy and Corporate Development. In this capacity, Jim will serve as Advisor to Bauer Media Audio on key strategic priorities, drive business development for Bauer Live, identify new revenue opportunities across artist management, festivals and sponsorship in Audio and Outdoor, and act as Strategic Advisor on Audio expansion and potential merger & acquisition opportunities in new markets.
“Tobias and I were competitors for 20 years in a challenging market. In 2012, we merged and started working together. Over the next eight years before Tobias moved to London, we transformed the audio business in Denmark into one of the most successful and profitable radio companies in Europe. I personally cannot think of anybody in the world that I would want and trust to take over my role and lead the Danish audio business into the future,” said Jim Receveur.
Tobias Nielsen brings a proven track record of transforming audio businesses, driving innovation, fostering collaboration and delivering sustainable growth at scale. With deep commercial expertise, a strong digital‑first mindset and an inclusive leadership style, he will lead Bauer Media Audio Denmark into its next phase of growth.
Tobias has an exceptional legacy within Bauer Media Audio Denmark, where he has spent more than 32 years shaping the business. During this time, he has held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer and Group Programme Director, each for 12 years, and played a critical role in establishing Bauer Media as Denmark’s leading commercial audio broadcaster. He was instrumental in developing Nova into the country’s most successful commercial radio station.
In 2018, Tobias spearheaded a forward‑looking digital strategy that positioned Bauer Media as Denmark’s largest commercial podcast business, strengthening reach and engagement with audiences across platforms.
Most recently, as SVP Digital, Tobias led the development and international rollout of Rayo, Bauer Media Audio’s app and website platform, now a cornerstone of the company’s digital transformation across nine European markets. He has also been a driving force behind Radio Ready, a global industry coalition and campaign that brings together more than 30 leading broadcasters and associations to secure radio’s prominence in connected cars.
In his expanded role as VP, Strategic Partnerships, Tobias will continue to represent Bauer Media Audio in strategically important coalitions, co‑chair Radio Ready, and further strengthen partnerships that support the future of audio.
“Jim has played a pivotal role in the success of our Denmark and Norway businesses, and we’re delighted that Bauer Media Audio will continue to benefit from his expertise in this new strategic role. At the same time, Tobias’s return to Denmark as CEO brings a proven leader with a strong track record of innovation, digital transformation and growth, making him ideally placed to lead the business into its next chapter,” said Simon Myciunka, President, Bauer Media Audio, and CEO, Bauer Media Audio UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Tobias Nielsen said: “I am delighted to return to Denmark and work alongside our talented Bauer Media team and trusted partners. We have a strong position as the commercial market leader in audio, and I am committed to building on that momentum by driving innovation, digital transformation and deeper collaboration with our partners, ensuring we continue to stay relevant and valuable to both audiences and advertisers.”
Tobias will relocate to Copenhagen on 31 July ahead of assuming his new duties. Details regarding his successor in his current role will be announced in due course.
