Cutting emissions
- Taking action to reach net zero emissions by 2050
- By 2025 we will calculate a company-wide carbon footprint
- By 2030, we will reduce our own emissions by 50%, and the emissions from our entire value chain by 33%
Sourcing sustainably
- Build on our existing work to source all of our paper from verified sustainable forests by 2025
- By 2026, we will publish a Forest Positive Roadmap
Eliminating waste
- By 2025 we will launch a company-wide packaging policy to eliminate waste across our business
We’re already taking action for our planet:
- Sustainable paper: all the paper we source for our magazines in Europe is sustainably sourced. Our own printers, which supply 65% of the magazines for our European markets, are certified with ISO 1400, FSC and PEFC environmental management standards.
- Electricity: we operate all locations of our German publishing business with 100% green electricity, and our German headquarters in Hamburg have been certified according to the ISO 50001 energy management standard every year since 2014 to show our commitment to managing and improving our energy consumption and efficiency.
