of RTL II.
The station’s “it’s fun” campaign had a lasting impact, positioning RTL II as a fresh and vibrant brand and exciting its viewers with emotional and varied entertainment formats. Fun and entertainment are the hallmarks of every programme. Reality show classic “Big Brother” was once again a highlight in the 2010 RTL II programme line-up. The show’s tenth season was its most successful in five years. In 2010 the station was on-trend in introducing a scripted reality series with “X-Diaries – love, sun & fun“ in the pre-primetime slot. RTL II is also home to quality drama and sci-fi series including “True Blood“, “Stargate“ and “Stargate Universe“.

Additionally, the station is a leader when it comes to corporate responsibility, with programmes such as 2010’s “Tatort Internet – Schützt endlich unsere Kinder!“ (Crime Scene Internet: Protect Our Children!) drawing much attention to socially relevant issues. The investigative format of the Crime Scene Internet series narrated by Stephanie zu Guttenberg helped raise awareness in Germany about the issue of the internet as a tool for the sexual abuse of children, and sparked a wide-ranging debate in the media and among policymakers.

In 2010 the station’s average annual market share was six per cent in the advertising-relevant target group of 14-to-49-year-olds.

Television advertising time marketer EL CARTEL MEDIA is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the station. With it, RTL II has strengthened its position as an independent voice in the German television landscape.

Radio Hamburg – the most listened to station in the Hanseatic city

The Bauer Media Group holds a 25 per cent share of Radio Hamburg.

Radio Hamburg has led the hotly contested Hamburg radio market for years. The station recently cemented its leading position with a market share of more than 25 per cent, a figure that represents an average hourly listening audience of more than 201,000.

Consumer magazine Stiftung Warentest recommended billigflieger.de in its 2/2010 issue, and the portal ranked second among flight price comparison sites in a test by ÖKO-TEST (2/2011).

The portal offers a decisive advantage over conventional price comparison sites: billigflieger.de’s real-time searches not only return offers from major airlines, they also check major travel sites like L’TUR, lastminute.de and fly.de.
