Results of the “BRAVO Star 2011” reader campaign are in: Melissa (15) is casting winner

More than 13,000 free downloads of winning song “My Wicked Heart” at www.bravo.de

And the winner is … the BRAVO jury, the Irish pop band Jedward and thousands of BRAVO.de users have cast their votes and have named 15-year-old Melissa from the greater Stuttgart area “BRAVO Star 2011”.

Her song “My Wicked Heart” catapulted the high-school pupil from her desk straight to the top of the BRAVO fan ranking. Last week Melissa took the stage at the “Dome” in Duisburg to accept her award and perform her winning song live before a large audience.

Melissa’s winning song can be downloaded for free at www.bravostar.de: the site has logged over 13,000 downloads since last Saturday afternoon.

About the “BRAVO Star 2011” contest
More than 2,000 talented young people from Germany, Austria and Switzerland submitted video entries in summer to the first-ever online casting in the teen title’s 55-year history: “BRAVO Star 2011”. Following a professional pre-selection by the BRAVO jury along with Edward and John Grimes of Jedward, the best of the best contestants were eligible for fans to vote on at www.bravo.de in a ten-week, multi-stage procedure.

For the finalists, the BRAVO casting was an exciting time that included weekly reports in BRAVO and on BRAVO.de, a field trip to the BRAVO office in Munich, a two-day casting camp and live concert in Europa-Park in Rust, vocal and performance coaching sessions with pop star Dagmara Woszczek and – for the final three – a joint appearance on “The Dome 60” on RTL II.

The song “My Wicked Heart” was composed by BRAVO reporters Julia Kautz and Sascha Wernicke and produced by the star team Goofiesmackerz (who have worked with chart-toppers Fler and Sido).

More information about the contest will be available from Wednesday in the latest BRAVO issue 50/2011, and on the web at www.bravo.de/star2011.
