What a party – big birthday issue to commemorate 55 years of BUMMI

Fifty-five years old and still going strong: the children's magazine BUMMI is celebrating its 55th birthday and Issue 2/2012 (release date 19 January) will be packaged in a silver foil bag for the first time.

The big BUMMI Anniversary Edition is chock-a-block with birthday fun. BUMMI fans will love the exciting educational games, including colourful alphabet balloons, a birthday shopping list and a hidden-object picture of a birthday party. Sweet birthday postcards, a lucky cow mobile to cut and paste, as well as a card game complete the content. The glittering BUMMI birthday bag promises extra excitement: every copy of the children's magazine is packed in a shiny mylar bag with one of 17 different surprise extras.

About BUMMI
BUMMI is a fun and learning magazine for children aged 3+ that parents and teachers love, too. Founded in 1957 in the former East Germany, BUMMI has been the premiere children's magazine for 55 years. Since 1991, stories and adventures with BUMMI have been available in all of Germany, published by Pabel-Moewig Verlag GmbH in Rastatt. Every issue includes richly and lovingly illustrated stories for parents to read aloud to their children, as well as colouring in and writing activities, games and craft ideas. There are also picture stories for children to look at and explore. The magazine also includes a pre-school programme called the BUMMI School, as well as two pages with tips for parents and teachers that are useful in everyday situations with kids. To round things off, every issue of BUMMI features recipes and book recommendations. Since 2011, an animated series with stories all about the yellow bear BUMMI and his friends has been running on the Ki.KA children’s television network.
