MEIN STAR DES JAHRES 2012 award event in Hamburg
On 2 February, the premium women’s interest titles NEUE POST, DAS NEUE BLATT, DAS NEUE and FREIZEITWOCHE, as well as the TV guides auf einen Blick and TV klar published by the Bauer Media Group will be presenting the MEIN STAR DES JAHRES (My Star of the Year) readers’ prize in Hamburg for the fourth time.
JACQUES LEMANS, one of the world's leading watch manufacturers, is once again the exclusive sponsor of the award ceremony. Popular news anchor and TV presenter Marc Bator will be hosting the event again this year.
The festive evening award ceremony will be held at the Kehrwieder Theater in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt (historic warehouse district), where Germany’s most popular stars will be honoured in eight categories.
The categories and nominees are:
Best Folk Music Star: Andreas Gabalier, Hansi Hinterseer, Kastelruther Spatzen
Best German Pop (“Schlager”) Star: Helene Fischer, Roland Kaiser, Ute Freudenberg & Christian Lais
Newcomer of the Year: Heidis Erben, Laura Wilde, Norman Langen
Hit of the Year: Michelle und Matthias Reim – Idiot, Mickie Krause – Schatzi, schenk mir ein Foto, Jürgen Drews – Wenn die Wunderkerzen brennen
Best TV Host: Guido Cantz, Kai Pflaume, Stefan Mross
Best Series Star: Janina Hartwig – Um Himmels Willen, Andrea Kathrin Loewig – In aller Freundschaft, Wayne Carpendale – Der Landarzt
Best TV Star: Sylvie van der Vaart, Heidi Klum, Maite Kelly
A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be bestowed this year upon one of the following nominees: Mireille Mathieu, Wenche Myhre, Roger Whittaker.
As a true people’s choice award, the winners of MEIN STAR DES JAHRES are chosen solely by readers, who are invited to cast their votes by phone and online over a two-month period.
