Bauer, who represents the fifth generation to head the family-run business, thus signalled the publisher's clear commitment to the magazine medium. Popular magazines continue to comprise the core business of the media company founded in 1875 by Johann Andreas Ludolph Bauer, today the Bauer Media Group.

Digital media are becoming increasingly important in terms of the way people use media. The Bauer Media Group has responded to this transformation in media use by investing in Germany and international markets. Today it is well positioned thanks to its diverse digital portfolio.
