Digital media are another business area of the Bauer Media Group. They are an integral part of the media company’s business activities particularly in Germany, Poland and the UK.

The focus of the Group’s digital activities is on qualitative, sustainable growth. The Bauer Media Group is pursuing a strategy of expansion and development for its strong media brands using online and mobile channels. With more than 100 online products, innovative drive and far-sighted corporate management, the Bauer Media Group is well positioned internationally to handle future developments in this business area.

In Germany the Bauer Media Group was ahead of the curve with its early introduction to the web of the influential brands TV Movie and BRAVO. Each of these online magazines is proof of the successful growth of its respective product family. TV Movie today can be accessed across nearly all digital media channels. Complementing the digital brand offering are mobile applications for iPhone and iPad and personalised Electronic Programme Guides (EPGs).

Prior to the successful launch of two additional online products, the company carefully weighed the potential opportunities versus the risks: WUNDERWEIB.de and LECKER.de are exemplary of the media company’s innovative parent brand strategy. WUNDERWEIB.de combines the content expertise and depth of 30 women’s magazines of the Bauer Media Group into a single brand. The LECKER.de portal represents the media company’s four food brands online.

With more than 70 websites, every print magazine, radio station and TV channel of the Bauer Media Group in the UK has an internet presence. The thematic coverage encompasses everything from men’s entertainment and lifestyle, to celebrity news for women and advice for pregnant women and young mothers, all the way to motoring and angling. The Bauer Media Group also offers some of its brands via mobile platforms – for example EMPIRE, which is available as an iPad app.

In the Polish media market the Bauer Media Group owns the third-largest general-interest portal in the country: Thanks to an innovative infrastructure, INTERIA.PL is the most technologically advanced platform in Poland. The site’s wide-ranging offering of media, entertainment and communication has been successfully expanded by the addition of numerous other attractive portals focusing on special themes: SwiatSeriali.pl for fans of TV series, the women’s website STYL.pl, and deccoria.pl featuring inspiring ideas and trends in living and decorating.
 
Complementing the media company’s business activities in the digital arena are participating interests and acquisitions of existing online offers, such as billigflieger.de in Germany.
